Green building has great potential to help planners address the critical environmental, economic, and social challenges they face in their communities. The Delaware Valley region is home to some of the nation’s leading green building experts along with major green building initiatives. These experts will share their knowledge of regional and national green building trends and resources; opportunities and barriers related to green building implementation; and green building initiatives in the Delaware Valley. This will include a tour of the Energy Efficient Buildings Hub (formerly the Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster or GPIC).

Directions:

For those taking SEPTA: Take the Broad Street Subway south to AT&T Station (at Pattison Ave.), and then transfer to the 71 bus (Navy Yard shuttle). Buses leave AT&T station at 8:05 and 8:30 am. You can also walk from AT&T station to Building 101; it's about a mile (20 minutes) from the station, but be sure to walk on the west side of Broad Street (otherwise you'll lose your sidewalk).

For those driving or biking: Take Broad Street all the way south to the Navy Yard. Go through the gate, and take your second left onto Intrepid Avenue. Building 101 will be the first one on your right, and there's plenty of parking behind it. Enter the building from 13th Street.

This event is sponsored by the Southeast Section of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association. For more information, please contact: events@apapase.org
